Spa Day & Afternoon Tea

Pendley Manor

On Thursday I went for a Spa Day & Afternoon Tea with my mum, sister and cousin.
Relaxing with tea and cake, who wouldn't enjoy that?

Once we arrived we were greeted by the reception staff, who then handed us over to a lovely lady who took us into a room, where we could have a cup of tea. 
Walking through the building, you can feel how old it is, its beautiful!

After we had all finished our tea, we were then shown around the spa facilities, given our robes and flip flops and headed to the changing rooms.


And... Relax!

We sat by the pool chatting for a bit, and then all headed down to the sauna/steam rooms.
For me - and I don't know about anybody else - but steam rooms make me extremely panicky! I get quite claustrophobic, so the feeling of not being able to breathe easily terrifies me! However, I did manage to spend about 5minutes in there, which is a long time for me.


Time for the food!

   

Quite recently I've learnt that certain foods really hurt my tummy! 

So whilst eating all these sandwiches, cakes, and scones, I knew my tummy would be in agony and very bloated afterwards - who wants a bloated tummy whilst in a bikini on spa day? Not me!

So instead of choosing traditional breakfast tea like I always do, I chose peppermint tea to settle my tummy throughout, which really helped!

All the food was sooo delicious, its making my mouth water now just thinking about it.

My lovely mum then treated us all to a glass Prosecco. Yumm!

Back to pool and spa bath!

The spa bath was bubbling away, so we decided to hop in! It was just like getting into a nice hot bath.

We all then thought we should try out the gym! It was empty - just how I like it - I went on the treadmill for a little while, but that just isn't for me, so instead I did 2000m on the rowing machine - very impressed with myself I must add! -

Gym done, so we went to the changing rooms to get showered and dressed, to make our way home!

What a lovely day we all had!

Afternoon Tea!

The Laura Ashley Manor

On Monday I took my sister Charlotte for afternoon tea! This was a birthday present.. back in November!

Charlotte decided to go off travelling for 2 months back in January, and as we had a lot of plans in December due to it being the Christmas month, I decided to wait until she was home to take her!

So, on Monday afternoon we headed off to The Laura Ashley Manor in Elstree. 

Upon arrival we were greeted by a gentlemen in the reception area, who then took us to where we needed to be.

We were then seated at our table and given a box full of different flavoured teas to smell.

Charlotte went for the Earl Grey Tea, and I went boring and stuck to the trusty English Breakfast Tea (I'm not one for trying different teas!) 

Whilst drinking our tea we were then able to have a look at the afternoon tea menu.

YUM!!

This was quite possibly one of the best afternoon teas I have had! The food was incredible!

In particular, I loved the Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Bagel and the Mini Quiche!

Charlotte loved the Cucumber & Cream Cheese Finger Sandwich and the Smoked Chicken & Tomato Brioche!

Obviously we both LOVED the scones (who doesn't!?) also, the jam that we were given was homemade by the chefs which was super yummy!

 We were so full up from the sandwiches, bagels and scones that unfortunately didn't have room for the cakes which is such a shame! 

We will just have to go again!

As this was a birthday present for my sister, I did mention it when I was booking it.

I was very happy that they took that on board as they brought out a small cake with a candle and 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate on the plate!

(She really struggled to eat this!)

This was such a lovely day, and was really nice to spend some time with my sister after her being away for 2 months!

If you love going for afternoon tea and you haven't been here already, I really do recommend going here!

You will not be disappointed!

Barcelona!

Weekend Trip Away!

So, at the beginning of February, myself, Jamie, his brother Stuart and his girlfriend Claire went to Barcelona!

On the 23rd January, Stuart turned 30!

Claire organised a surprise trip for him to Barcelona which he found out about on his birthday! However, we left out the part that Jamie and I would be joining them! 

DAY 1

On the Friday morning, Jamie and I headed up to the airport to surprise Stuart!

Surprise revealed, and after Stuart got over the shock of us being there, we headed to our gate, ready to board the plane!

After arriving at the airport in Barcelona, we all jumped into a taxi and headed for our hotel, which only took around 20mins!
Our check in time wasn't until 3pm that afternoon, so we dropped off our bags and went for a walk to see where everything was.

We sat down at a bar for a few drinks, before heading further down towards the beach and to see what was around there.

We then headed back to the hotel to have a shower and go down for dinner. It had been a very long day so we went to bed quite early ready for our next day.

DAY 2
We tried to visit as much as we could in one day!

We first went to the Camp Nou! I'm not at all a football fan, but I did really enjoy going here!
I have had so many people telling me how big the stadium is, but it isn't until you're actually there you realise just how big it is!

After we had finished there, we headed to the main strip Las Ramblas to have a look at all the 'expensive' shops! If only I had a lot of money I would have bought so much stuff!
We saw some Gaudí buildings whilst there.

We were so busy looking at everything that we forgot about lunch. 
We headed to the marina again and ate at a fish restaurant.
I had mussels and paella! The paella was the best I have ever had!

I forgot to take a photo of the paella because I was so hungry! 

Lunch finished we headed back to the hotel to chill out and rest after walking all day!
We headed out onto the main strip later that evening for some drinks and tapas!

After arriving back to the hotel that evening we had some cocktails in the bar before going back to our rooms.

DAY 3
We decided to give ourselves a lay in! So we went for breakfast around 10ish.
We went to see the Sagrada Familia, which was amazing!

We also went to see the magic fountain. We didn't realise that its best to see this at night time as they are not on during the day! It was still pretty cool to see though and the view was beautiful!

This was my first weekend trip abroad and I loved it!

It has made Jamie and I want to do more, we are already looking at Rome!

Away For New Years!

Watchet - Somerset

So, on Tuesday my boyfriend Jamie & I still hadn't any plans for New Years Eve!

He then came up with the idea of going down to Somerset for a couple of days!

Wednesday, I had work, but once I finished we then travelled down that evening!

Jamie's dad and step mum, have a holiday home down there right on the sea front, so we thought it would be a nice change of scenery to see in the New Year!

We arrived quite late on Wednesday evening so we went straight to bed!

Thursday (New Years Eve) we decided we wanted to do something fun, and found a zoo called Tropiquaria.

I thought I took a lot of photos, but realised I took them all on Snapchat and didn't save most of them (stupid I know) 

This little one was just a bit too cute not to take a photo of! He or she looks like they are really posing for this!

When we walked in, there were 2 parrots. But only one caught our eye! Olly!

He actually waves at you!

There were a lot of other tropical animals there such as, caiman, tortoise, birds, emus, lemurs, lizards and so on!

After the zoo, we went back to the house for some lunch, and to watch Harry Potter! 

We then went out for a curry to a restaurant called The Spice Merchant! It is super tasty! We had some wine and cocktails with our food too!

After that we walked along to a local pub, to have a few drinks in there, before heading back to the house for prosecco, and to watch the London fireworks on the TV!

It was lovely it just being the 2 of us snuggled up on the sofa!

New Years Day was a bit of a rubbish day with regards to the weather, as it would not stop raining! We just decided to deal with it and go for a walk along the pier! 

We did however get absolutely soaked by the rain, so went back to the house to dry off, watch more Harry Potter, before packing up to come home! :(

It is such a lovely area down in Watchet, there is so much to do! I do recommend going in the summer time as a lot of the activities and days out are mostly outdoors, but we had a lovely time even though it was raining!

What I Got For Christmas!

Christmas 2015

Christmas is quite possibly my favourite time of the year! I love the festivities and how happy everyone is!

I thought I would share with you some of my main gifts which I received from my family, boyfriend and friends!

Starting with my Beauty Advent Calendar from Selfridges, which I received from my lovely boss!

This was such an awesome gift!
This was a 24 door calendar, and behind every door were the most amazing products! Some of which were, Tweezerman tweezers, dermalogica products, enzyme peel, concealer and so on! All of these products came in very useful, and I think I've used pretty much all of them minus a few! I highly recommend you purchasing this for yourself next Christmas! 

Next up are two of the main gifts I received from my parents!
MATILDA in Theatre!

I'm so excited to go and see this! I love going to see shows in the theatre, and Matilda is probably up there with one of my favourite childhood films, so finding out it was in theatre was amazing!

Decléor Aroma White Foam Cleanser

This is the only cleanser I will use on my face! You only need a small amount of product as its a foam so builds up when being used! It is the only cleanser which doesn't cause me to break out, and leaves my face feeling fresh and clean!

So, now I thought I would share with you the gifts my boyfriend bought me!
Adidas Superstars

I'm actually in love with these! I haven't worn them yet as I'm too scared to get them dirty in this weather! However I have worn them around the house and they are so comfortable!

Oversized Oasis Scarf

I've wanted one of these huge scarfs for ages, but couldn't find one I liked! I absolutely love this one! The colour is perfect as it will go with anything! Its very cosy too!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

My go to perfume! I received a lot of perfumes for my birthday back in October, but ran out of this one! This is my all time favourite perfume! It smells fabulous! Highly recommend! 

Olivia Burton Watch

I already have a Marc Jacobs watch which is a lot bigger than this one! I wanted another watch which was slightly smaller for special occasions! This is perfect and really cute! I love the black and gold and leather strap!

Lastly..
Blue Jumper from Topshop

Such a cosy jumper! I have a whole draw full of jumpers! I find them so easy to wear, either with leggings or jeans! I might be slightly obsessed with them, as I do tend to just look for jumpers when shopping!

This next gift is from my Godmother, Rose.
She is extremely generous and I certainly wasn't expected this!
Ted Baker Clutch Bag

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how pretty this bag is..
It is such a nice colour, its actually Royal Blue, this image I took is making it seem purple!
I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I'm very excited to!


So they are all the gifts I wanted to share images of!
I did receive a lot of other things, such as cinema tickets to The Rex in Berkhamsted from my Uncle & Auntie, money, chocolate, prosecco, pyjamas, and all the usual stuff you get for Christmas!

New Hair!

Afternoon At The Hairdressers

Richard Browns Hairdressers!

After having blonde hair for years, I decided a few months ago I wanted a change!

So I decided to go for the Ombré look!

Whenever I got my hair done I always had 2 different tones of blonde put through so it looked well blended when it did start to grow out!

I thought instead of dying my hair dark and then having the ombré done, I would instead grow out my blonde hair and then have it blended through once it got to the right length!

Here is what my hair looked like before! A bit of a mess!

You can see quite clearly where the growth is, but at the same time it does look slightly blended! Just not as blended as I want!

My hairdresser has been doing my hair for years now so he knows exactly what I like and dislike!

For me, he is literally the BEST hairdresser I have ever had! He listens to what you want and advices you what would look good and what wouldn't!

So it begins...

Once all the colours were put on, it was time for me to wait with my cup of tea!

The salon is so beautiful with the most amazing decor!

In particular, I absolutely LOVE the mirrors! 

They also have a fireplace in the section I was in with a fabulous deers head above it! Its so pretty! 

After waiting for the colours to take, it was then time to have it all washed out! (my favourite part)

THE FINISHED LOOK!...

My hair was washed and blow dried!

AND VOILA..

I am so happy with it!

You can see from the before photo how much darker my hair was!

Its blended through so much better and its a lot lighter than before!

Christmas Prep!

With it only being 50 days until Christmas, I sit here and think to myself "where on earth has this year gone!? Last Christmas only seemed as though it was 5 minutes ago!"

I have to say, I absolutely love Christmas time and all the festive events that take place!
